Books I love

Trilogies with Loads of travel and adventure

In the Shadow of the Wolf Queen (Geomancer # 1)
Adventure

The first in a new trilogy from Kiran Millwood Hargrave. Giant wolves, a sea hawk and an amazing cast of female characters. I inhaled this. The audiobook is pretty good too!

You’ll have to wait for the next two in the series.

The Cabinet of Wonders (The Kronos Chronicles Series #1)
Fantasy

The Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski is wonderful; a steampunk flavoured world where 12-year old Petra stands up to a tyrant with only her wits and a metalwork spider.

Rich, gothic and a touch spooky. And, the whole series is complete.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland (#1 of 5)
Travel

I love this *trilogy* (actually a series of five). It’s bonkers in the best possible way. September, who I wouldn’t be surprised to see whip a spanner out of her pocket, lands up in Fairyland.

This is not your grandma’s fairyland. September, in my opinion, is a wonderful 12-year old.
